Virginia College/Greenville Hosts One-Year Anniversary Celebration, Gets 'Virginia College Day' Proclamation

Spearheaded by the Career Services department at the school, Virginia College in Greenville, South Carolina, recently hosted a One Year Anniversary Celebration and Community Partnership Dinner. The celebration, a tribute to the community partnerships and phenomenal growth experienced by the campus, attracted a number of dignitaries, employers and members of various Chamber of Commerce organizations. Guests enjoyed campus tours and were pampered with free massages and spa services by the cosmetology and therapeutic massage students. One hundred and fifty guests dined in candlelight on a meal prepared by Flat Rock Grille.

Guest speakers included the Mayor of the City of Mauldin, Don Godbey, State Senator David Thomas, Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem of the City of Greenville, Lillian Flemming, and the keynote speaker, South Carolina Commissioner of Higher Education, Dr. Charles Thomas. Dr. Thomas spoke on the healthcare trends in South Carolina as well as Virginia College's unique fit and benefit to the Upstate.

In addition, Virginia College staff stood proud as Mayor Pro Tem Flemming delivered a proclamation that declared October 29 "Virginia College Day" in the city of Greenville.
