Culinard's Osborne and Patak Participate in Disney Event
Thursday, November 19, 2009

Chef Antony Osborne, Dean of Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College, and Culinard Director Ron Patak recently teamed together to participate in the Epcot Annual Food and Wine Celebration at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. This is Chef Osborne's sixth year to be invited to the prestigious event.

They were assisted by former Culinard Pastry Arts student Brennen Winters, who currently works at Disney World. The Saturday event was a huge success with some 900 guests attending. For the event, Chef Osborne created a new signature dish based on his years of experience in working in the Far East. The dessert was an Asian fruit salad flavored in a lime and orange coriander infusion, served with a lychee jelly, coconut sweet corn ice-cream and grenadine star fruit chips. The dessert was a popular choice with over 800 portions presented to guests.

"Virginia College has given me the confidence that I lacked to be sure that I could complete any job assignments just like other people. I am now equipped with the knowledge that affords me better opportunities. I am so glad that I enrolled."
