Thursday, November 19, 2009
Those business units that performed best against goal in Education Corporation of America's first United Way campaign will be honored with special recognition at a future event. Results were announced this week after tabulating employee giving pledges and comparing to the predetermined goal for each entity.
The Chairman's Cup, signifying the best overall commitment to giving by percentage against goal, goes to corporate headquarters in Birmingham.
The other honorees are:
Best Performing Campus -- Region 1: Virginia College at Huntsville
Best Performing Campus -- Region 2: Virginia College at Pensacola
Best Performing Campus -- Golf Academy: Myrtle Beach campus
ECA United Way Chairman Ron Maillette says, "The United Way management in all our locations have remarked about how successful our drive has been, and especially for our first year. Not only were they impressed with the commitment to giving demonstrated by our folks, but many of them remarked about the spirit and enthusiasm demonstrated. Everyone in the organization should be proud, but special recognition goes to the local coordinators and to the campus leaders who championed the cause."
In addition, those who committed to giving are now eligible for a drawing for a long list of prizes. Winners will be notified soon.
