New Virginia College Columbia Campus Goes to Dogs

Though busily preparing and enrolling for its first class start on April 7, the staff at the new Columbia, South Carolina, campus of Virginia College took time to give some of the school's famous personalized attention to some truly needy individuals. Campus Security Officer Tony Gillard was making his rounds when he found two abandoned labra-doodle puppies that appeared to be about five weeks old. He brought them in and fed them since they had obviously been neglected. The program director for the proposed Cosmetology program (pending regulatory approval) at the school fell in love with one of the puppies--already named Ebony Grace--and took her home. Another staff member took a liking to the other puppy, named Maddox, and gave her a home.

Also at Columbia, Academic Assistant Julie Weston was recently named Employee of the Month. She received a beautiful apple award in front of all staff members.
