Virginia College at Mobile Offers New Programs Unique to Gulf Coast

Virginia College at Mobile has announced two new career programs that are the first of their kind for the Gulf Coast. New classes in Interior Design and Computer Assisted Drafting and Design will begin at the Mobile campus on Cottage Hill Road on October 2.

The Interior Design program will prepare students to enter the field and work in a wide range of environments, including restaurants, hotels, stores, offices, medical facilities, homes and even cruise ships and other exciting areas. Graduate designers are not only involved with the appearance and décor of interiors; but with developing plans and detailed design solutions, selecting materials, writing specifications, accessibility issues and building codes, architectural drawings and business practices. The Mobile curriculum is designed to meet the educational requirements for the NCIDQ exam (National Council for Interior Design Qualification).

Computer Aided Drafting is used in all phases of the design and manufacturing process, from 2D design and technical drawings to 3D models and prototypes. At Virginia College, students will receive training in all aspects of the CAD field, including, architectural design, mechanical design, and more. Virginia College at Mobile will offer full CAD facilities and instructors with real-world knowledge and experience.
