Melinda Inglis, a Virginia College in Huntsville instructor and PASS IT ON Advisor, recently spoke to a local job club on the topic, "How to Complete an Application with Confidence." The St. Joseph the Worker Job Networking Club, with more than 350 members, meets every Tuesday at a local church and features networking and guest speakers.
As a result of the Adopt-an-Angel project on the Biloxi campus, 112 children will have a wonderful Christmas. Among the many gifts donated were 18 bicycles, battery-powered power wheels, I-Pods, mp3 Players, video hand-held games, robots, tea sets and more.
The Virginia College in Pensacola United Way team recently received a Coordinator of the Year Award from United Way of Escambia County. The organization raised $2.4 million, exceeding its goal for this year's campaign. See the article in Pensacola News Journal.
Back in Huntsville, the Virginia College Student Ambassadors presented a plaque of appreciation to campus librarian, Dorothy Bowden. At the quarterly Student Appreciation Day Mrs. Bowden, who has provided 15 years of continuous service to the campus, accepted the plaque, commenting, "This means so much to me because it is from the students."
