The work of three students from Virginia College's Macon campus has been published in phati'tude Literary Magazine. The magazine and website publishes poetry, fiction, interviews, reviews, and essays written by emerging and established writers whose works exhibit social, political and cultural awareness. The vision of the magazine is to generate an "emphatic attitude" on contemporary literature.

The students have organized a fundraiser to enable them to attend the first annual phati'tude African American Literary Festival at the Langston Hughes Community Library and Cultural Center in Queens, NY. The students will participate in a workshop to tutor young students in writing skills and will hear from prominent African American writers in literature.
