Virginia College in Richmond Hosts Community at Open House and Ribbon Cutting Event

Virginia College Regional Vice-President Dr. Sara Lawhorne and Virginia College in Richmond Campus President Elyane Harney cut the ribbon and welcome guests, staff and visitors to the school's open house.

Virginia College in Richmond, Virginia, recently welcomed visitors for an open house and ribbon cutting to showcase its state-of-the-art classrooms, labs and medical, culinary and cosmetology areas. The event, celebrated opportunities for Richmond-area students and employers.

'We are excited to showcase our new campus and career center,' says Elyane Harney, Campus President of Virginia College in Richmond. 'At Virginia College, we teach our students how to succeed and make a difference in our community. The Richmond area will truly benefit from our well-trained graduates.'

Virginia College in Richmond began classes in January 2011. At capacity, the school will enroll up to 1,200 students and graduate about 250 each year. The 55,000 sq.-ft. campus was completely renovated representing an investment of over $4 million. The new campus features medical labs, an operating suite, a pharmacy lab, a library and a student-operated cosmetology salon that is open to the public. The school will also soon open its Culinard Café restaurant.
