The 20 members of the campus women's service group were recently inspired by a guest speaker from SafePlace, a domestic violence shelter in Austin. Members collected donations for toiletry kits and delivered 35 of them, along with assorted donations, to the shelter.

The Augusta campus turned out on a recent Friday night for the Richmond County Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society. About 40 students, staff, and faculty participated in various group fundraisers as well as individual fundraising. The goal was $2,000 but that goal was nearly doubled by the end of the evening thanks to the Therapeutic Massage students who gave chair massages, the Cosmetology students who provided face painting and nail art, and several Medical Office Management and Medical Assisting students who sold food.
