Two Virginia College updates
Jul 19, 2011
The Montgomery Student Services team, Student Ambassadors and staff pitched in recently to welcome members of the Montgomery Chamber of Commerce to campus for a Business After Hours event.
Santovia Hornsby–Johnson, a military veteran and student at Virginia College in Augusta (above, with her daughter, Roxtovia), won a $2,500 cash scholarship award from the Imagine America Foundation for exemplary leadership qualities and outstanding grades while attending a career college.
Financial Planning Advisor Holly Cochran says Hornsby–Johnson is an outstanding student. "Her instructors praise her for consistently high academic performance and how she is always well–prepared for each class. She goes beyond what is expected as a student and is a pleasure to teach. She sets high goals for herself and exceeds those goals. She embodies with it means to be a respected veteran of the armed forces of the United States."
The Imagine America Foundation (IAF), established in 1982, is a not–for–profit organization dedicated to providing scholarships for education, research and training support for the career college sector. Since its inception, the Foundation has provided over $50 million in scholarship and award support for graduating high school seniors, adult learners and U.S. military personnel attending career colleges nationwide.
