Celebrated hair stylist and educator leads workshop in Chattanooga

The Cosmetology program at Virginia College School of Business and Health in Chattanooga will host a free hands–on workshop presented by industry expert Paul Suttles on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011. The event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. at the campus located at 721 Eastgate Loop Road.

Paul Suttles, Director of Field Education for Pivot Point International, will lead the interactive workshop. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops that include learning how to hold shears, actually cutting the hair of mannequins and sampling how to color hair and watching it process, as well as learning how to apply makeup.

"I am delighted that Virginia College has invited me to present cutting–edge hairstyling techniques and top industry styles and trends to its potential students," says Suttles. "They will learn firsthand if a career in cosmetology is right for them."

Suttles has more than 10 years of diverse experience as a beauty industry professional including Education Director for Aveda Institutes in Cincinnati, Ohio and Indianapolis, Ind. In addition, Suttles has directed many photo shoots with renowned artists including celebrated photographer Babak and has been featured in industry trade publications such as Modern Salon and Canadian Hairdresser.

Virginia College is a Pivot Point International Member School, which provides students with an all–inclusive cosmetology curriculum delivered through a systematic, hands–on approach utilizing the most contemporary delivery methods available.
