EcoExpo big success for Ecotech Institute
Sep 29, 2011
Recent visitors to Ecotech Institute wanted to get connected to green technology, eco-friendly energy and sustainable living. By all accounts, the first annual EcoExpo event on the Aurora, Col. campus didn't disappoint.
Guests at the free event toured the campus and attended seminars on those subjects, plus visited with vendors and exhibitors including Boulder ElectroRide, City Electric Supply, 99.5 The Mountain, Green Energy Solutions, SoleVento, Splendor Waterless Car Care, Green Garage, Rocky Mountain Bottled Water and Sunshine Systems.
"We enjoy having visitors on campus. It's a big opportunity to show off our LEED Gold certified campus and some of the sustainable energy features we've built in, like the various solar technologies, the wind turbines and a lot more," said Ecotech Institute's president, Michael Seifert.
Together, the renewable energy sources built into the Ecotech Institute campus generate over 65,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
Ecotech Institute is the first and only college entirely focused on preparing graduates for careers in the fields of renewable energy, sustainable design, and energy efficiency. Its parent company is Education Corporation of America (ECA), based in Birmingham, Ala.
