Columbia. Surgical Technology students recently enjoyed a pinning ceremony which was attended by staff, family, graduates and current students.

Also, Career Services Director Heather Bowers was recently tapped as a 2011–2012 Northeast Area Council board member for the Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce. The board is elected from Chamber membership to set Chamber policies and priorities.

Charleston. Students and staff collected almost 1000 pounds of food during a Holiday Food Drive in December, benefiting the Lowcountry Food Bank. Librarian Robyn Dudley spear–headed the effort.

Knoxville. Campus president Jim Branham recently chatted with Tennessee governor Bill Haslam about how Virginia College's goal of changing lives and creating job opportunities is aligned with the economic development initiatives the governor is promoting throughout the state. The occasion was the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Governor's Breakfast.
