New Tulsa campus staying busy

Campus President Barbara Holliman and her staff recently hosted Councilor G.T. Bynum from Tulsa City Council's District 9. Mr. Bynum was particularly interested in Virginia College's career–centric approach to education.

"America's Next Top Model" recently held auditions at the Tulsa campus. A lot of talent in one place!

The Virginia College Cosmetology program recently hosted a reception for salon professionals featuring a presentation on styling trends by industry expert Paul Suttles, Director of Field Education for Pivot Point International.

Mr. Suttles has diverse experience as a beauty industry professional including Education Director for hair styling schools in Cincinnati and Indianapolis. In addition, he has directed photo shoots with artists such as Babak, a well–known fashion photographer. Mr. Suttles has been featured in industry trade publications such as Modern Salon and Canadian Hairdresser.

Virginia College in Tulsa is a partner and member school of Pivot Point International, a program that encompasses an all–inclusive cosmetology curriculum. It is delivered through a systematic, hands–on approach using the most contemporary methods available.

The campus recently hosted a Community Outreach Open House. Hamburgers and hotdogs were served and participants donated to three organizations: Oklahoma Blood Institute, Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and Metropolitan Environmental Trust.

The event included campus tours for perspective students and media interviews given by DOA Angela Beck and Campus President Barbara Holliman.
