Virginia College news: from the Gulf to the Old Dominion

To celebrate Administrative Professionals Day, Virginia College in Charleston recognized their Office Administration and Business Administration students with a brunch and informative session on hiring trends, resume writing and interview skills by Heather Bowers, Career Services Area Director. A session on interview preparation followed by Makina Wallace, Director of Admissions.

The Therapeutic Massage students at the Mobile campus recently participated in a community outreach with the LPGA for the second year in a row. The students provided chair massage for over 75 golf tournament volunteers and have been invited back for next year's tournament.

Students at Virginia College in Charleston recently participated in the Healthy Living Summit with the City of Charleston Weed and Seed Program. Therapeutic Massage Students provided chair massages and the Medical Assistant students provided Wellness Screenings. The Healthy Living Summit is an annual spring event to bring awareness to the community about healthy living initiatives.

"Come Dream with Me" was the theme for a prom held for special needs individuals in the Greenville area recently. Several Cosmetology students and faculty participated in the unique event by providing hair, makeup and nail services prior to and during the event, which hosted 150 special needs individuals of all ages.

Therapeutic Massage students in Richmond provided chair massage services recently for the news team at the local NBC affiliate. Reporters, anchors, and support staff received stress-busting, 15-minute massages from the students.
