Virginia College in Austin will have a ribbon cutting for its Respiratory Care program on June 7, 2012. Employers, prospective students, and Virginia College students and staff are invited to explore the new laboratories and classrooms. Virginia College is the first and only career college in Austin to offer a respiratory care program.

"We are excited about the Respiratory Care program offered at Virginia College in Austin and we've had a great response from area employers who are delighted that we are meeting a need for well-trained professionals in this field," says Harvey Giblin, Campus President. "Our new respiratory care laboratory and equipment will provide students with an exceptional learning environment and give them valuable hands-on experience."

The Respiratory Care associates degree program at Virginia College in Austin is administered with industry current laboratory equipment including a SimMan mannequin simulator. The intense hands-on program prepares graduates to gain real-world experience in the respiratory therapy field while learning the skills and techniques they need to be successful in their careers.

The senior Cosmetology class at the Montgomery campus recently went to Capitol Hill Rehab facility to perform complementary beauty care services for the residents who were participating in the annual Diamonds and Pearl Beauty Pageant. It was reported that the students, "performed the services with the utmost enthusiasm and were very professional in their performance."
