Kitchen on George holds special events

Special events at Kitchen on George have increased the buzz in Mobile about the restaurant, which is affiliated with Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College in Mobile.
Recently the eatery hosted a wine dinner featuring a five-course dinner prepared by chefs from Kitchen on George, Century Restaurant in Birmingham and Culinard as well as five wines from Tantara Vineyards of Santa Barbara County, Calif.
Speaking of wines, the restaurant, which is located in Mobile's historic Oakleigh District, recently held a wine and cheese event that benefited the Mobile Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Mobile SPCA).
"This was the second Pooches on the Patio event the restaurant has held to benefit our adoptable cats and dogs, and we are extremely grateful for their support," said Janine Woods, Mobile SPCA Executive Director.
Kitchen on George is a teaching establishment where a team of professional chefs and staff provide a learning lab environment for culinary and pastry arts students from Culinard.
The restaurant's daily menu consists of a wide variety of fresh, contemporary American food, which guests can enjoy tapas style in small plates or bowls, or as traditional entrées. Where possible, locally-sourced ingredients are used to provide patrons with fresh, bright flavors of the region. An extensive selection of fine wines is also offered daily.
