Virginia College sets new partnership with pharmacy giant CSPN

Education Corporation of America (ECA) recently announced the signing of a national externship and recruiting partnership with Community Specialty Pharmacy Network (CSPN), the nation's eighth largest specialty pharmacy network.

CSPN will now be an integral partner with the school's career services department. By forging a new relationship for pharmacy technician talent across the United States, both companies fill a need that results in mutually beneficial outcomes.

"CSPN has a unique opportunity to assist our Centers of Excellence members with their staffing needs through our partnership with Virginia College," says Nick Calla, CSPN vice president of Industrial Relations. "They have an excellent program that can provide qualified pharmacy technicians to meet the needs of our more than 200 member pharmacies operating in 47 states."

The scope of this two-fold agreement includes CSPN member pharmacies providing students with a work site to complete their externship which requires 180 hours of on-site experience under direct academic supervision from the pharmacy. These sites will allow the pharmacy personnel to see students' work firsthand in the workplace, and it will also give students the foundation for real and relevant operational experience for the future. ECA's talent agreement with CSPN offers members the ability to access and interview ECA's top talent at all Virginia College campus locations when seeking to fill vacant pharmacy technician positions.

"Virginia College is thrilled to enter into a long-term relationship with CSPN as they are such a significant partner of stature and influence in the Specialty Pharmacy category," says Scot Stapleton, senior vice president of Career Services at ECA, which includes Virginia College, Ecotech Institute and the Golf Academy of America. "We look forward to providing quality talent from our ever-growing graduate base interested in pursuing a career in retail or institutional pharmacy."
