Golf Academy of America to Donate More Than 800 Golf Clubs to Lorena Ochoa Golf Foundation and Other Charities After Second Annual Clubs Fore Christmas Campaign

Feb 1, 2013

Golf Academy of America collected more than 800 golf clubs across its five campuses recently to conclude its second-annual Clubs Fore Christmas campaign.

GAA students well versed in club building and fitting then worked together to clean, re-grip and re-shaft those clubs in order to prepare them to benefit the children of the Lorena Ochoa Golf Foundation and the First Tee of Phoenix.

Dozens of people came to the GAA's campuses in Myrtle Beach, Orlando, Dallas, Phoenix and San Diego in the spirit of giving and exchanged their well-used golf clubs for complimentary half-hour lessons with GAA students and expert instructors.

"On behalf of our students and staff, I would like to extend my gratitude to everyone involved in this successful campaign," said Jim Hart, president of Golf Academy of America. "Collecting more than 800 golf clubs for these great causes is a wonderful testament to the generous spirit of golfers."

The Lorena Ochoa Golf Foundation's aim is to craft and encourage health, fitness, education and inclusion programs that incorporate golf, especially in a family setting.

The First Tee instills positive values in young people through the game of golf, operating on a national scale and providing safe spaces for children as well as positive role models and mentoring.
