VC staff and students help Habitat for Humanity Birmingham

On Friday, July 7, a team of Virginia College students and staff braved the soggy weather to build a home for Monica Johnson and her daughter Jacoria in Bessemer, Alabama. Despite the rainy conditions, the team was able to paint doors, install flooring and closets, as well as complete a portion of the back deck and patio. Habitat for Humanity Birmingham is a non-profit 501(c)3 Christian organization that builds and repairs homes to support the affordable housing and disaster recovery needs of Jefferson, Shelby, Walker and St. Clair Counties.

A big thank you to the following individuals that were able to participate:
Antoinette Hollis – Pharmacy Technician Student
Stephanie Hill – Medical Assistant Student
Vera Ward – Criminal Justice Student
Dr. Bryant Cline – Medical Assisting Academic Coordinator/Lead Instructor
Mel Robinson – Student Services Associate
