Jul 12, 2013
Virginia College in Greenville's Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) student organization and the Greenville campus recently hosted a campus March for Babies, benefiting the March of Dimes. A week of fundraising activities and education awareness culminated in a campus walk. Over 100 participants contributed by giving donations to wear jeans or by purchasing food and T-shirts. Participates also walked a three-quarter mile route around the school campus in support of healthy babies.
The FBLA Phi Beta Lambda chapter is an award-winning organization that recently placed in the top five at a state competition, advancing them to the national competitions in Anaheim, California.
Nationally, FBLA-PBL is a national sponsor of March of Dimes. This year, the Greenville chapter has raised over $1700 in the support of healthy babies everywhere.
Columbia: Cosmetology students recently lent their beauty skills to a volunteer effort at Carver-Lyon Elementary school. Female students who had achieved straight As were given manicures by the Virginia College students.
