Golf helps heal wounded veteran who lives in Myrtle Beach
Sep 25, 2013
Andrew Montgomery, a recently retired eight-year Army veteran, started golfing a year ago as an experiment. Could the sport take his mind off his combat experience and the resulting injuries? He found unmatched relief in the game and decided to make it his career. He is now midway through his education at Golf Academy of America.
Montgomery's immersion in the game and service to his country has been recognized by the George W. Bush Presidential Center, which has selected Montgomery to be one of 24 wounded soldiers competing in its third annual Warrior Open in Irving, Texas.
