Virginia College in Lubbock Campus is Now Enrolling Students

LUBBOCK, Texas - February 6, 2014 - The new Virginia College in Lubbock has begun enrolling students at 5005 50th St. Classes will begin April 7, 2014.  

Heading the new school is campus President Karina Long. Long has more than 11 years of experience in the post-secondary education field, and was formerly campus director at National American University.

"Our welcome has been tremendous, and we are pleased with the community response and successful start in Lubbock," says Long.  "As with all Virginia College locations, we gauge employer demand and then design and offer programs that meet those needs. Potential employers have all told us how excited they are that Virginia College will be providing them with well-trained graduates. In addition to serving our students, we feel we have positively impacted the economic level of the area and hope to attract more people and revenue as well."

Virginia College in Lubbock offers students fast-track career training in programs including: Administrative Assistant - Diploma, Business Administration - Associate's Degree, Cosmetology - Diploma, Healthcare Reimbursement - Associate's Degree, Medical Assistant - Associate's Degree, Medical Assistant - Diploma, Medical Billing & Coding - Diploma, Medical Office Administration - Associate's Degree, Network Technician - Diploma, and Pharmacy Technician - Diploma.

The campus, formerly a discount retail center, has more than 55,000 sq. ft., representing an investment of $4.6 million in the facility. Approximately 125 faculty and staff will serve students at the campus.

Virginia College, based in Birmingham, Ala., also recently opened an on-ground campus in Ft. Pierce, Fla. The Lubbock campus brings the total number of campuses to 27. Virginia College also offers classes online at to more than 6,000 students.
