Virginia College in Ft. Pierce Campus is Now Enrolling Students

FT. PIERCE, Fla. – February 5, 2014 – The new Virginia College in Ft. Pierce has begun enrolling students at 2810 S. Federal Highway. Classes will begin April 7, 2014.

Heading the new school is campus President Vincent Femia. He was formerly the president of Virginia College in Baton Rouge, La., and has more than 11 years of experience in the post-secondary education field, with an additional three years' experience as a public school teacher.

"Our welcome has been tremendous, and we are pleased with the community response and successful start in Ft. Pierce," says Femia.  "As with all Virginia College locations, we gauge employer demand and then design and offer programs that meet those needs. Potential employers have all told us how excited they are that Virginia College will be providing them with well-trained graduates. In addition to serving our students, we feel we have positively impacted the economic level of the area and hope to attract more people and revenue as well."

Virginia College in Ft. Pierce will offer programs in Business Administration (AS), Cosmetology (Diploma), Culinary Arts (Diploma), Healthcare Reimbursement (AS), Medical Assistant (Diploma), Medical Assistant (AS), Medical Billing & Coding (Diploma), and Pharmacy Technician (Diploma). Additional programs that will be offered later include Pastry Arts (Diploma) and Surgical Technology (AS).

The campus, formerly a bank call center, has more than 74,000 sq. ft. of space. Currently 60,000 sq. ft. have been built out, representing an investment of $5 million in the facility. Approximately 125 faculty and staff will serve students at the campus.

Virginia College, based in Birmingham, Ala., recently opened on-ground campuses in Lubbock, TX. The Ft. Pierce campus brings the total number of campuses to 27. Virginia College also offers classes online at to more than 6,000 students.
