New England College of Business accepts its third national award in five months
Boston – October 16, 2014 — New England College of Business, winner of the Gold Medal for Best Practices in Online Learning from the United States Distance Learning Association and a leading institution of online education designed for working adults seeking career advancement, today announced that it has won a Brandon Hall Group Silver Award for Excellence in the Best Learning Team category. This is the school's third national award in five months. A Brandon Hall Group award ceremony will be held at the HCM Excellence Conference in Fort Lauderdale on Jan. 29.
Coveted by learning, talent and business executives, the Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards Program celebrates organizations who improve the performance of their organizations through cutting-edge technology and innovative products and services. The New England College of Business eLearning team was recognized for its high-quality work and the extra hours employees put into each project, resulting in an affordable model of higher education for working adults. The team is focused on "doing" rather than simply "knowing," encouraging students to learn skills that they can apply directly in the workplace. There were five main criteria for judging the award, including a commitment to teamwork; a focus on new approaches to learning; measurable benefits to the team's work; effective use of resources; and overall positive impact for students and the university as a whole. The entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group Sr. Analysts and Executive Leadership.
"We know that NECB designs high quality courseware, and it is an honor to be recognized at a national level for it," said Howard Horton, President of New England College of Business. "We couldn't be more proud of the instructional designers, subject matter experts and program chairs who work together to build our best-in-class courses."
In addition to this award, New England College of Business won the Gold Medal for Best Practices in Online Learning from the United States Distance Learning Association in May 2014, followed by the Creative Use of Technology Award from the Association for Continuing Higher Education in August 2014.
