"We are so pleased Richard is coming to speak with our students during his visit to Shreveport/Bossier City," says Campus President Melody Rider. "I had the privilege of working with him in the past and am excited for the positive advice and outlook he can provide our students at Virginia College."

From his first runway show in 2004, to presenting well-received collections at San Francisco Fashion Week, Hallmarq has achieved acclaim for his designs as well as tapping into his passion for art and music. Since obtaining a degree in Fashion Design in 2009 from International Academy of Design and Technology, Hallmarq has found success by creating remarkable inroads in fashion, particularly his connections to other celebrities in various art forms, including musicians, writers and models. His exposure has been a key influence in shaping the garments he produces today. Hallmarq will also be the keynote speaker at The Red Hanger on Jan. 29, an annual fundraising event that benefits Dress for Success.

"Richard's talent has become more widely known, and we are so proud to have him share his industry wisdom to our students," Rider says. "His speech will inspire and motivate our students to finish school and actively pursue their dreams. His knowledge in regards to marketing himself, working through hardships against all odds and overall business savvy will serve as an inspiration to our students."

Hallmarq was also a cast member on the Emmy-nominated television series "Project Runway" Season 11. His strict attention to fit and detail take his preferred textile, Jersey Knit, from simplicity to luxury.
