Virginia College faculty in Austin, Birmingham and Columbia reach out, receive appreciation

Karen Watson, Clinical Coordinator, for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program at Virginia College in Austin, has been nominated for the Health Science Partner of the Year Award at McNeil High School. Karen has served on McNeil High School's Health Science Advisory Board for more than three years and they are recognizing her efforts and participation.
Virginia College in Columbia Pharmacy Technician program director Lakeisha Wardlaw spoke to local students at Bethel Hanberry Elementary School's Career Day recently. Ms. Wardlaw was invited to participate due to Virginia College's relationship with the school.
Virginia College in Birmingham recently celebrated Faculty Appreciation Week. The week included special activities and goodies to honor the faculty. The highlight of the week was one lucky faculty member being chosen to have his or her car washed by campus president Khaled Sakalla. Surgical Tech instructor Sally Henegar was the winner of the car wash.
"I hope that all the faculty had a great week," says Virginia College in Birmingham campus president Khaled Sakalla. "We can never say it enough, thank you for all you do to support our students' success each and every single day!"
